Book Now for New Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland {5th Day Free}

This post was most recently updated on May 13th, 2019

Star Wars fans, it’s here! The opening date for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is May 31, 2019 at the Disneyland Resort!!!

This means NOW is the time for you to start booking your Disneyland vacation for this summer. It’s also a good idea to start booking fall and winter vacations – because they will sell out.

My blog partner Get Away Today has the best special for travel May 24 – December 31, 2019. It’s their 5th Day Free ticket, which will include Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Don’t wait!! Go here to get the offer: I want to go to Disneyland and see the new Star Wars attraction!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge date came earlier than anticipated, so Get Away Today will honor the bounce back offer for anyone who wants to book both vacations at the same time. However, you need to book by March 11, 2019, which is when the bounce back offer expires.

In order to book both vacations at the same time, you need to book over the phone at 855-GET-AWAY. More information on the bounce back offer can be found here.

At opening the Star Wars attraction will be in phase one. According to a press release from Disney, “you’ll be able to live your own Star Wars story and take the controls of the most famous ship in the galaxy aboard Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, sample amazing galactic food and beverages, explore an intriguing collection of merchant shops and more.”

Phase 2 opens later this year and it sounds amazing too!

Here’s what you need to know if you’re going between May 31 and June 2019, you’ll need to have a ticket to Disneyland AND you’ll need to make a no-cost reservation, subject to availability, to access the land. Right now there’s not a way to do that but you can keep watching for the announcement or Get Away Today can help you.

And this time, it’s worth it to stay on resort because if you stay at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels during these dates you will receive a designated reservation to access Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during your stay (one reservation per registered guest).

Or, go to Disney World because there’s no reservation requirement there. However, it does requires a ticket to Disney’s Hollywood Studios (the attraction opens later at Disney World – starting August 29, 2019). Still, “capacity is limited.” Another perk of staying on resort is that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be available during Extra Magic Hours. “During Extra Magic Hours guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels can spend extra time at Disney’s Hollywood Studios enjoying select attractions.  Details will also be available at a later date on and the Disney Parks Blog.”
